"Homeworld 2 is a damn fine game. It's a good looking and good sounding game that provides an interesting enough story to pull you through the experience... I had a great time playing it and would whole heartedly recommend it to fans of the first and tell those that haven't to at least try the demo if not get out to buy the complete game."
IGN – SCORE: 9.0 out of 10
Homeworld 2 lives up to the high standards set by its predecessor...its production values are impeccably well done, its campaign is long and captivating, and its core gameplay is complex, tactical, and rewarding. As such, those who had a great time playing the original should by all means enjoy the sequel, as will most anyone interested in managing epic battles between huge spaceship fleets.
Gamespot – SCORE: 8.7 out of 10
...if you were addicted to the original Homeworld, then Homeworld 2 is a must for you, and if you're totally new to the Homeworld experience, Homeworld 2 is a terrific, challenging and engrossing way to jump aboard the saga.
GameSpy – SCORE: 83 out of 100
...the clincher that transforms Homeworld 2 from a good game into a great one is the depth of detail. Every battle is an epic worthy of Lucas' early days; every backdrop a mind-blowing kaleidoscope of nebulae which constantly rams home the very vastness of space. As capital ships reach firing range, they heave-to in the heavens to present their sides, and their deadly ranks of deck-mounted turrets... It's space done right, and a ripping game to boot.
Games Radar – SCORE: 90 out of 100
